Individual Interviews

In order to understand and analyse individual behaviour, go into controversial or intimate subjects, the method adopted is the interview. Several types of interviews go together, from the non directive interview to the semi-structured interview.

The non directive interview

The aim of this interview is to let the person being interviewed express him/herself as freely as possible only asking further questions in order to help him/her to think more deeply. Technical, its length is usually long.

Semi-structured interview

This type of interview is lead : we go through, not in any particular order, a certain number of themes set out in an interview guide. The objective is to make sure that all the themes which appear in the guide are covered so as to gather all the information in order to understand why and how a respondent acts in such or such a way.
